King Tut - almost famous
20 February 2010
Everyone thinks that King Tut was a really important pharaoh, which actually quite annoys me, because he wasn’t! He became famous after he was dead – with the discovery of his tomb. The young king was found to have vast amounts of treasure, which was remarkable as the surrounding tombs in The Valley of the Kings had all been robbed. The king’s mummified body was also found glued to its sarcophagus, and so Howard Carter ,who found the tomb, had to dis-member the body to remove it successfully. The excavation is also to have thought to have caused a blow to Tut’s head, which had previously been blamed on his murder. A pleasant image there for all you Tut lovers!
