Functional Hallux Limitus – Signs and Symptoms
23 August 2011
The big toe or hallux articulation in the feet are an important joint with regard to normal biomechanics. It’s the articulation that the body pivots forwards with and also rotates over. If this first metatarsophalangeal joint would not proceed, after that it will be more difficult for our bodies to move forwards and much more energy is required to walk. There are a lot problems that will have an effect on that big toe articulation and can impact the forward movements. One of those situations is recognized as functional hallux limitus. This is the trouble which will simply happens when functioning and there is the constraint inside the range of flexibility from the joint while walking plus a total range of motion when not really functioning. There is usually barely to no pain when there is no weight on the big toe.
